SEA Teachers Batch 5 Whole Activities

Day 20 February 10 th 2018 Today, we had a lot of things to do. We`ve prepared ourselves for a tour to Bang Saen Beach, Chon Buri. I was so excited that all of us joined that trip together, and had our relaxation. It`s about 2 hours or more, we`ve arrived in the station (First bus stop) and had some meals. But then, we went to Bang Saen beach and arrived there at 9.20 am. Miss Nina said that we had 5 hours before we went back to VRU. Then, we had our free time. Chris, Sinta, Pao, and I preferred to played Banana boat with Ploy, pong and others. After played banana boat, we tried to find some food. They served many foods there, and overall, they mostly provide sea food, and the price was around 100 to 300 baht. After had our food, we played and swim again until 2 o`clock. Day 24 February 14 th 2018 Today we had an English camp. All science intern teacher (Azha, Novi, Rodney, and me) will work in a collaboration with general science English program to conducted an English camp in 2 different school, the first one was in Chiang Rak Noi school, and the other one was in Watchoompol School in Ayutthaya. We`ve prepared everything, even the conversation to teached the whole school. We spent about 30 minutes to arrived there. We arrived and had some briefing first from Aj. View and Aj. Tum. She told us that we will teached adult local people to had their conversation. Then, the time running so fast and we had our lunch. After that, we played some games with students and had a closing ceremonial. Then we went back to VRU.

Day 22 February 12 th 2018 Today was my second teaching practice. I was so excited that today I will teach again, but with using the same topic to teached. I will teached 3 rd year students in Science Center Building room 418. After novi teached, then I teached. I already prepared myself for this teaching practice, the presentation, lesson plan, and any of equipment. I started the class with a greet. Then, I gave some brainstorming about the material. I asked them why does the leaf looks so green, and how do plants made their food. They`ve just answered me with a great answer, that the plant leaf contain chlorophyll. Then I presented some slideshow relates with the material. I asked them to explain the definition of photosynthesis, I also explained a little bit about that. I explained the chloroplast and it`s parts, then the 2 main stages/phase in photosynthesis. Then, I played some video about light dependent reaction and Calvin cycle. Day 19 February 9 th 2018 Today I will had no observation schedule. We had an English camp today, as well. I was so free, until Lara called me to helped her to prepared all things for her teaching practice. I was so glad that I could helped others to finished their teaching. She also teached in 1/3 class. She will teached about linear equation. She had just prepared all, and she were so ready. At the end of her teaching, her mentor said that she doesn`t yet evaluating her, it was just an observation upon her teaching.

Day 18 February 8 th 2018 Today was my first day of teaching practice. I will teched class 1/3 with the topic of photosynthesis. It will have started at 1.30 pm to 2.30 pm. I`ve just prepared myself for that, starts from the presentation files, student worksheet, and every supporting and beneficial equipment for my teaching. The teaching running well, I’ve used some improvements like a new learning models, and also combined class demonstration and class discussion as one. I was so lucky that my supervisors and also mentors, Miss. Vipavadee Khwaengmek (miss Vi) and Miss. Kanokwan Pamsuksan (miss View) gave me many of suggestions to improve myself in teaching. I got many of things I’ve just learned that somehow preparation was not so enough, you need to believe in yourself, be patient and passionate. I was so glad that miss Vi told me that I will teached again on 12 th of February.

Day 17 February 7 th 2018 Today, I’ve just prepared myself for my teaching practice tomorrow. I was a little bit nervous, and somehow felt so scared if then I couldn`t did my best. I`ve just prepared from the morning (08.00 am) to evening (9 pm). All the time that I spent was for the lesson plan, student worksheet, student reflection sheet, equipment, and any other assessment tools. I`ve just took my sleep earlier than usual because somehow, I thought that it should be like that, so I would woke up in the morning with a fresh condition.

Day 16 February 6 th 2018 Today we had a great event. We will had an exhibition. It`s being held in VRU demonstration school, 3 rd floor. We`ve already prepared ourselves for today. I will sing a local song from my hometown, Ambon. The song entitled “Ayo Mama”, a song that exactly tell to us about how important to ourselves from a bad things in teenage. While the other sea Teacher also performed their local song also, sheen and Rodney performed a Filipinos song, Irau performed “Baras Kuning”, anggun cames with “Burung Enggang” dance, and etc. we`ve done with all of that, and we do our best yet.

Day 15 February 5 th 2018 Today we`re just prepare ourselves for tomorrow`s exhibition, because SEAMEO and all staffs will come and visited us. We`ve prepared all the instrumentals, all local suites and any other supporting equipment. We`ve just so ready for tomorrow, and hoping for the best.

Day 14 February 4 th 2018 Today we had a lot of things to do. I had so many clothes to be cleaned laundry first. but then I saw there were a chance for me to went to future park. as always, I took a bath and prepare myself to went to future park. I went there for some money exchange, because I already spent 2.000 baht of my money and I need 1.000 baht more for my daily necessary. so I just go ahead. I suddenly went there about 20 minutes by fan and arrived there, find the store named "Super Rich Exchange" to exchanged my money. then, I went back to VRU. today, my friends from English Education also invited me for some fundraising activities. it was fun that I will also sing today. I was so glad.

Day 13 February 3 rd 2018 Today we had some plan to went to Chatuchak. We will bought some stuffs (hand crafts, and any others) for our family, relatives, and college. We`ve prepared ourselves to went there. After finished prepared all, we gather together in front of Family Mart in VRU, and went to Chatuchak together. We went there by bus, but first we had to find some fan to went firstly to Future park Rangsit shopping center, because the bus only available there. We had about 20 minutes before we arrived at Future park, then we waited for our friends (that live in Boonkum). Then, we went to Chatuchak by bus number 29. It was about 2 hours to went there. Then we arrived, bought some stuffs, and had some selfie. We`ve spent a day, and it was 5.00 pm. Our buddies told us that we should went back to VRU before 6.00 pm, because if we went back too late, bus number 29 will be unavailable. Day 12 February 2 nd 2018 Today was my last day for observation, because after this I will have my teaching practice. I was so excited that all students present today, they all would have some test. It was their daily test. Because they will have their weekly test, every single material will be combined with other material as one ad they will had that after this test. Firstly, teacher gave them about 30 minutes to learned or review about the material they will had for the test. Then after all student review and finished, they started the test.

Day 11 February 1 st 2018 Well, we`re just went back to had our observation again. Today, I observed my lovely class, yeah they were 1/3. They were so kind, the class running well, class situation was good. Teacher gave them a good starts with a brainstorming about their material. Then, teacher prepare all stuffs that all students need, some equipment and ingredients, because they will had some experiments. Then teacher divide students into 6 group. After that, teacher gave them a worksheet and they should had their team work. Today, they discussed about complete and incomplete flower. After observing, students presented their team work in front of class.

Day 10 January 31 st 2018 I`ve just so ready for today`s activity, and it was actually the English Camp. I walked to VRU demonstration school about 5 minutes, then I arrived there and helped all teachers to moved all learning equipment to garden and Thai house. Then, we had to waited for students to came into the hall room. We have a lot of activities to do today, but we end it all with a great yell that we`ve just finished.

Day 9 January 30 th 2018 I`ve been waited for the clock pointed at 9.20 am. Why? I`m so excited that this is my first observation on class 1/6. I`ve already ask the subject teacher and she said today 1/6 will had their class experiment at science room (3 rd floor). I went there, stepped the stairs and arrived. They were so kind, they welcoming me into the room. The class situation was very good. Students seated on their seat and putted their books on the table. The class situation was good. Teacher choose some student to be a volunteer for a demonstration. My next observation was on class ½ at 10.10 am. The class learning was so good and quiet. They listened carefully to their teacher, and teacher gave a worksheet for students to filled. The overall conclusion, both 1/6 and ½ was a quiet and good class. Teachers also had a great strategies and good models to made the students understand easily. Also, they were so kind, respectful and warm to their teacher.

Day 8 January 29 th 2018 Today, I’ve observed class 1/3. When I was first come to the class, the students felt so happy and welcoming me into the room. The class situation was good enough, all students seated in their seat and putted their books all in the table. The teacher also prepared the projector, and presented a presentation for students. Today`s material was about flower morphology. But the teacher gave a brief explanation about photosynthesis (Starch translocation) first. Then the teacher let student wrote some note refer to the slideshow. Overall, the learning was so joyful and students enjoy every single explanation of teacher. Then, before the time is over, teacher gave an assignment to students. But unfortunately, the time is over, then students got some homework. Next week, they should bring some flowers for an observation. I`m so glad that they felt so enthusiastic with the learning.

Day 7 January 26 th 2018 Today we had an English camp as well as it always being and been held every single Wednesday and Friday. I already in school at 7.15 am. We had a “welcoming students” first before we went to the ballroom. After that, the students had their brief explanation given by Mr. Adam and other staff. Then, we went to school garden. My partner was Anggun, and our assisting teacher was Miss Sao. We teached about “Fruits”. First, we teached them all vocabularies about fruits, we had some games also after students filled all the blanks in their student worksheet. The time went so fast and it was 12.00, and that means all of us should had our lunch. We had our lunch together, and yet finished all and had our next session. Students had their “Thinking Maps” activities and it took about 2 hours, because they had to prepare anything. Day 6 January 25 th 2018 As usually, today I had a class observation on class 1/3 at 1.30 am – 3.20 am. The class situation was so good, students were so ready to have their lesson. Teacher also told them that they will had their class in science room. Firstly, I though that the science room is a laboratory, but actually it`s not a laboratory, because the school still yet progressing a laboratory. Students today had to conducted the Photosynthesis experiment. The experiment exactly shows that plant producing starch. Yet students been prepared well, they had their experiment well also. They treated all ingredients and tools carefully and perfect. Teacher also gave them a worksheet for them. I observed one of the group, the group 2. They were so enthusiastic to had an experiment, they also felt so curious why the experiment result shows like that. They also investigated all things very well. It`s unfortunately that I should went out the class because it`s the break time.

Day 5 January 24 th 2018 Yesterday Mr. Adam already told us that we will have some activities today. Yeah, the English Camp that usually been held by VRU demonstration school every single Wednesday and Friday. We arrived at VRU demonstration school at 7.00 am, and they lead us to school ballroom. After 30 minutes, students arrived in ballroom and we were welcoming them. They are all students of Satit Secondary school on Matthayom 1-6. After a brief explanation from their teachers, they were moved to garden (school garden) and we were divided into 5 groups with each have 3-4 teachers. I teached Weather and Temperatures. It was so fun teach them with whole vocabularies about it. Anggun, one of my friend also assisted me to teach. They enjoy my explanation and follow every pronunciation. Day 4 January 23 rd 2018 Today, Mr. Adam Told me about my observation schedule. He told me that I would be observe the class ½ and 1/3 for today and exactly because Mr. Adam late to tell to me the observation schedule, so I missed one of my class observation agenda. That means I only observe 1 class for today. The class situation was good enough. The students were pretty enthusiastic with teachers and materials. The method that used by teacher was good enough, and very systematical. He also used technology resources, such as Line ™ QR code. Students would only access material only by scanning QR code. The teacher teached about transpiration and photosynthesis. One thing that I saw in this class was that there were only small number of student that seemed to be so talkative. But what I saw was that the teacher doesn`t teached the student with models and strategies that refer to cooperative learning.

Day 3 22 nd January 2018 Today was our 2 nd day in Bangkok, and our 1 st day of this program. We had some appointment with VRU president and staffs. They invited us to a simple orientation, as well as the program started. There were many people there, Miss Nina, and also other Mentors and Supervisors, also our buddies attend this orientation. We had some opening ceremonial, and then they gave us some brief explanation and some welcoming word to us in VRU. We were so excited. Then they gave us a Pin of VRU Logo`s and some books. Then, they also introduced us our mentors and supervisors. Azha, novi, Rodney, and I will be under Aj. Vipavadee Khwaengmek (Miss Vi) and Aj. Kanokwan Pamsuksan (Miss View). Aj. Vi and Aj. View will be my mentors, also my supervisors. Then, they took us to VRU demonstration school, and we had some welcoming ceremonial there.
